6 reasons why we think you’ll love tech sales

I’m tech sales and I’m all about selling technology. Pretty simple! Right?

Yes, tech sales simply involves selling technological hardware and software solutions. Hardware solutions may include medical devices, computer devices, handheld devices while software solutions may include web and mobile applications like Slack, Netflix, etc.

Now that you have a better sense of what tech sales is all about let’s dive in to six reasons why you should consider a career in tech sales:

1. Low entry barrier: You don’t need any specialized degree to get into it. People with different backgrounds and professional experiences can easily transition into tech sales. This is one sector where a university degree or previous sales experience is not a requirement. All employers care about is whether you can do the job of selling their solutions to their target buyers 🙌🏾

2. High demand for talent: There will always be a need for sales jobs: all tech companies have something to sell, and the process of selling by way of prospecting, cultivating relationships and building trust cannot be automated. Everyday tech startups are created and they all need sales people.

3. Better pay from day one: Tech sales roles are some of the best paying no-code jobs in the tech field, and guess what, there’s also opportunities to earn commissions 👌🏾

4. Flexible work: We come bearing more good news! The great pay is matched by a level of flexibility you don’t always find in other career paths. Tech sales jobs can be performed from pretty much anywhere in the world , and many of the companies are remote-only.

5. Transferable skills: There are many ways to tap into your past experience and demonstrate to employers that you have what it takes to perform excellently in a tech sales role. Some skills that matter are communication, people relations, problem-solving, active listening, and time management

6. Multiple career paths: You can think of tech sales as a way to get your foot in the door into the world of tech. From sales you can move into marketing, customer management, account management, sales enablement, sales learning and development, and even grow through the ranks to take up a position in the C-suite of a company.

With these few points of mine, I hope you are now very convinced that this is one sector that is worth learning more about.
